|THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE US EXPERIENCE PROGRESSIVE IDEAS IN THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF TRANSLATORS’ TRAINING IN UKRAINE
|Abstract. In this paper the author presents the results of the comparative analysis of the theory and practice of translators’ training in Ukraine and in the USA. The ways of improvement of the system of translators’ training in Ukraine have been worked out. The introduction of the new legislature on higher education in Ukraine has opened more possibilities for domestic universities in learning process organization. Due to this fact, the implementation of the American experience in translators’ training has become more reasonable in Ukraine. Among the ways of further development of translators’ education system are the following: to develop the educational programs involving the professional translators and stakeholders; to include into the programs’ content the components that reflect the demands of labour market; to prompt trainers to permanent professional development; to improve the forms and technologies of teaching; to diversify translators’ specializations; to encourage professional self-development of future translators; to motivate students to conduct field researches and to engage them into the project activities; to develop a mechanism of monitoring the quality of professional training of future translators; to study foreign experience of effective translators’ training and others.
